Anti-Virus Disclaimer

It is strongly recommended that all Command Alkon PC’s be protected by

anti-virus software (McAfee, Norton, etc.) because most batching computers

are open to the Internet. However, the use and configuration of anti-virus,

firewall, pop-up blockers, and anti-spyware applications may have adverse

effects on COMMANDbatch performance. Command Alkon is not responsible

for any damage to software as a result of viruses or other unauthorized access

to the COMMANDbatch PC.

It is your company’s responsibility to install and update anti-virus software.

Consult your IT department or network administrator for assistance with

configuration issues. Any services performed by Command Alkon to correct

problems caused by the incorrect installation/updating of anti-virus software

can be billed to your company at the Command Alkon hourly service rate.

Command Alkon requires that:

• Anti-virus software must be configured to EXCLUDE the following

directorie

s used by COMMANDbatch and Microsoft SQL Server:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CAI

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server

C:\ProgramData\CAI

• Anti-virus software must also allow .bat, .cmd, and .js (javascript) files to

run.

• Anti-virus software must not block the following ports used by

COMMANDbatch

and other Command Alkon products.

Caution!

Anti-virus software should not scan the above directories

unless special measures are taken to optimize the anti-virus

scanning rules. Some anti-virus programs are intrusive and

can be injected into the SQL Server process which can cause

stability problems and result in memory access violations or

database corruption.
